Rest is productive.

Unplug to Rest & Reconnect (R&R)

Chronic stress and burnout are the real epidemics of these times. They are more prevalent than heart disease or cancer. They are the result of too much work and not enough rest.

Everything that is alive has its time and season. When you live on the land this becomes very apparent. Our psyche is included. We are not machines. There is a time for exertion and hard work, and likewise a time for deep rest and incubation. Maintaining this balance is essential. In todays world, it can be easy to forget.

R & R is specifically for those times when you just need a break from your life, when you need a space where you can breathe and just be.

The lodge is open to solo travellers who want to reconnect to nature, silence, their creativity and the tranquillity of the land while also be held in the presence of a community that can acknowledge your need for contemplation. It’s not about escaping or running away from life, but rather about finding yourself in it once again.

  • We offered self-directed stays at the lodge from Sunday-Thursday on certain weeks throughout the year for people who need a little respite from their daily life. It’s like a quirky youth hostel from the 90’s but with a focus on healing and well being.

You can choose to stay in a private or shared room and the bathrooms are shared. There is one ensuite room with a queen bed also available. The lodge is shared with other people who may be there at the same time. You are free to interact with others as you wish, however we ask that the vibe is kept calm and quiet.

Staying at the SEED lodge during the week means that you can genuinely unplug from your daily life and responsibilities and focus on one thing: taking care of you or just figuring out what that looks like… It is very useful for people who are looking for some creative inspiration, a quiet place to work or have experienced burnout/nervous system depletion.

Every morning there is a breathwork class from 6:30-7:00 am with the People of the Prana and sometimes evening programming depending on the time of year. All activities are optional.

You are responsible for your own meals but we can also provide catering if requested ahead of time.

  • R&R is ideal for people who are on burnout, going through big life changes or just seeking a place to be supported while they rest and heal. While there is no official programming during these days, psychotherapy, art therapy, massage therapy, and energetic healing sessions can be booked as part of your stay, as can a visit to the Scandinave spa.

  • While we have registered mental health care professionals on site, this is not a crisis center. If we feel like you are in an active crisis, we will send you to another facility which can better support you. We encourage you to come back when your condition has stabilized.

  • While we encourage you to unplug and devote your attention to yourself during your stay, we recognize that that might not be possible for everyone. There is wifi available at the lodge. If you choose to work during your stay, we ask that you stay in your room if you are using a computer, and that you are mindful of noise if you are having loud business meetings.

We also ask that cell phones are not used in public places and we can lock them up for you if you feel like this will give you more of restful stay.

  • Coming with a friend or a partner is totally acceptable as long as you both agree to follow the lodge rules during your stay.

  • One night stay for a private room with shared bathrooms is $129/night and a private room with a queen bed and ensuite is $179/night + tax.

Rooms are available from Sunday-Friday most weeks.

Stays of 2 nights or more are $108/night for private room with shared bathroom and $149/night for private room with queen bed/ensuite.

Work exchange options are possible. Please email us.

  • If you are booking psychotherapy sessions during your stay, R & R might be covered by your insurance plan. Please inquire for more details.

  • Unfortunately, there are no bus or train routes to the lodge and you do need a car to get around. There is a shuttle bus that goes to Meaford and we can pick you up from there.

We do make trips to town if you need supplies during your stay and can provide you with a food basket or catering if you so require. Please be sure to mention this on your application form.
