Finally write that book you’ve always dreamed of writing (or that never ending PhD).
These self-led writing residencies are held @the SEED lodge four times/year to give you the opportunity to show up and devote your precious time to bring your creative writing projects to life.
Imagine 7 days out of your daily life and routine to immerse yourself in your writing practice.
Little distractions and lots of inspiration.
Become part of a creative hub working alongside up to 8 other people with a love of words (at all levels) to inspire each other and geek out together.
Have your own room, a desk, and unlimited tea and coffee.
Be supported to show up and write every day.
Additional information:
Residents are expected to bring their own food and prepare their own meals. Catering is an option for either breakfast/lunch and/or dinner (please see costs on application form). In order to keep costs down, we only provide catering options if there is sufficient interest.
Residents will have their own room which has two single beds and bathroom facilities are shared. There is an option to reserve the Queen size room with ensuite for an additional $300 (only one available).
All bedding is provided. Residents bring their own towels and toiletries. Kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cookware and BBQ is available.
Residents are expected to clean up after themselves.
Because of the nature of this type of retreat, noise is kept to a minimum to respect the work space. There are optional group activities that may be planned such as hiking to local waterfalls, or swimming at the beach.
Writers must be independent and able to work in a quiet manner that respects other participants.
While not officially programmed, we do offer times when writers can share their work with others and ask for feedback. This is done on a voluntary basis and not a requirement of the residency.
